The biggest day of your life is staring you down. You’re three months away from the big day and you’ve discovered that the perfect dress no longer fits the way it should. What do you do?
Hopefully, your first instinct isn’t to panic and collapse into a mess of screaming bridezilla tears. Losing weight before your wedding doesn’t have to be a big production. It can be a fun way to bond with your future spouse, or girlfriends you have invited to be a part of your wedding party.
Fad diets are no way to lose a large amount of weight quickly. Study after study has shown that once you finish the diet and begin to go back to old habits, your body adapts to it and quickly regains the weight. Maintaining that weight loss is key to a successful diet plan. Choosing the right one for you can be difficult as there are many varities out there.
Should you go vegan? Organic? Liquid diets? None of those matter. When it comes down to it, the only real way to lose weight and keep it off is to reduce caloric intake and increase your movement (exercise).
There are several types of diets out there that are fairly easy to stick to after your initial weight loss. Many people find that a low carbohydrate, high protein diet is fairly easy to stick to, even when they’re caught without whatever food you have prepared. Many types of these low carbohydrate diets allow you a certain percentage of carbs per day in your diet – but it’s still about making smart choices with your food.
Paleo diets have had a strong resurgence the last few years. Paleo diets focus on the types of food and nutrition that would have been available to our caveman ancestors. It is a diet that is high in meats, fish, nuts and vegetables. It’s a very easy diet to adapt to as the ingredients for the meals are widely available at any supermarket and don’t take any specialized shopping. In fact, you may see your food bills falling with the amount of cheap and easy food you can make at home.

Keto is another diet that many people have found a great deal of success with over the last few years. Keto diets are a high fat, adequate protein, low carbohydrate type of diet. It concentrates on helping the body burn fats rather than carbohydrates for fuel. By training your body to look at fat first to burn for fuel rather than carbs, your body naturally begins to burn body fat through the day which releases fatty acides and ketone bodies into your blood stream. Eventually, instead of burning glucose, your brain begins to burn these ketone bodies as fuel for energy. The rest of your diet consists of calories that are made up of just enough protein for body growth and repair as well as sufficient calories to maintain a healthy body weight.
